Hi, I’m Jen!

Integrative Nutrition and Wellness Coach, gymnastics coach, mom of 2 soccer loving boys and a firm believer in balance.

As a child I was always active, playing outside with neighborhood friends until the streetlights came on. Throughout my childhood I was a competitive gymnast which I continued throughout college.

After college I moved into the real world, working for corporate America where I became someone I wasn’t familiar with. On the outside I looked healthy and happy but on the inside I was anything but that. I started developing health symptoms that were interfering with my daily life; IBS, fatigue, muscle aches, anxiety, depression, migraines to name a few. I started visiting Dr’s and specialists who diagnosed me with Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, etc and sent me away with prescriptions to cover up the symptoms and correct nothing. It wasn’t until I started to advocate for myself and take matters into my own hands that I started to feel like myself again. My first stop was yoga where I learned how to use my own breath and be in the present to relax my mind and body. It gave me the spark to continue my journey to healing myself. Next I tackled my gut issues that I had suffered since childhood. I educated myself on food sensitivities and found a practitioner that worked with me on identifying foods that were negatively impacting my body. I gradually started to feel better and it was the next key to keeping me going on my wellness journey. Next I studied and learned about the connection of the mind and body and boy was that enlightening! I started making so many health connections once I started listening to my body and digging below the surface of just the physical symptoms. It was at this point that I discovered the power of meditation which helped with my sleep, pain and anxiety. Still to this day it’s a key component of my everyday life. I realized life isn’t about quick fixes and overnight cures, it’s what you do on a daily basis to care and nurture your body. Everyone deserves to feel good and it is possible with small changes one at a time.

My passion for health and wellness lead me to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned from some of the most recognized and skilled practitioners in health and wellness.
